My clay comes from the local river, and is hand made into each one of these pottery pieces. They’re such a great reminder of natural beauty and the amazing plants and animals we live around! 🌱

Curious about our process? Keep scrolling!
1. My husband and I put on these cute overalls so we don’t get covered in mud!
2. Then we go get clay from the river…
3. We use a pair of jeans and a bucket to soften and strain the clay,
4. It sits out for a day to dry in the sun,
5. We take out what we call the “claeg”,
6. We roll the clay and cut shapes out of it,
7. Then finally we glaze, assemble, and send them to their new home with you!
Do you have a big heart? Pick a pair to show how much you care!
In honor of the process we use to make our clay, we present our custom, Jean-shaped clay earrings!

This market is an opportunity for you and me to join other artists in Provo, and support the local community by donating to the YWCA. Please come and visit, enjoy some music, and appreciate some art!
Allie grew up in a family that regularly encouraged artistic exploration and involvement. In her elementary school years, much of her understanding of different arts came from testing as many mediums as possible. Painting with her friends and grandma, drawing with siblings for hours at a time, and experimenting with clay, wood, glue, and fabrics enabled her to see what she liked best. In high school, she focused in on her ceramics skills by taking pottery classes, competing in sculpture contests, hosting art clubs, and testing different kinds of clays (Monster clay and Sculpey).
Currently, Allie works primarily with different pottery clays in her college studio space, and most recently started a ceramic earring business. She has made local clay (found at the river and processed by hand) an integral part of her art practice, and is a regular at art markets and shows around Provo, UT. She intends to use her business as a way to get to know the people around her better, and encourage joy through connection.
